Representative
Michelle Caldier
|  Legislative Update

For more than a decade, Michelle Caldier (R-Port Orchard) ran a dental practice that served nursing home residents around the Puget Sound. She has donated thousands of hours to caring for the underserved, and chaired the Access to Care Committee for several years. She was also an affiliate professor at the University of Washington School of Dentistry.

In 2013, Michelle joined others to successfully lobby the Legislature to restore funding to adult dental care for those on Medicaid. This inspired her to run for the Legislature and continue fighting for those who cannot care for themselves.

Councilmember
Dave Morell
|  County Update

Dave is a long-time resident of East Pierce County, having grown up on Lake Tapps, and attended Sumner schools before moving to South Hill where he has lived for 40 years.

He previously served as state Representative for the 25th Legislative District - sitting on the transportation and criminal justice committees, and also served as a Fire Commissioner for Central Pierce Fire & Rescue, a Pierce County Charter Review board member, various Pierce County government boards and commissions and on the Government Affairs Committee for the Puyallup-Sumner Chamber of Commerce.

Mayor
Dean Johnson
|  City Update

Dean Johnson was elected in 2015 and re-elected again in 2019. His second term runs from 2020 to 2023. As the At-Large member of the Council, he holds the unique distinction of being the only City Council member elected by voters from across the entire city of Puyallup and represents residents in all three districts. In January 2022, Johnson was designated Mayor by the Council to serve the 2022 - 2023 term.
